LOCALLY ACCLAIMED
PHOTOGRAPHY!
Recipient of the 2019 and 2020 Expertise Award.
Hi! I began my professional career as a photographer in 2010 after completing the New York Institute of Photography's Professional Photography Course. I immediately started as a landscape and wildlife photographer and enjoyed gallery representation with top galleries and local businesses. But in 2013, a friend of my wife's asked me to photographer her wedding. That was a pretty big step for me as at that time. I was pretty nervous about "dunt dunt dunnnnn," photographing a wedding. Turned out, I was pretty good at it. I have always been great with people, which earned me a bit of respect when I worked at Microsoft in their Consumer Division Product Support Group.
Fast forwarding to now, my photography journey took me many directions, giving me experience and skill development in a lot of areas. I am particularly proud that I was selected to photograph a former Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer, a local Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and police chief. My Grandmother was a small-town wedding photographer and I love that I can carry on in her footsteps, imparting my skill with my wedding clients as she did with hers.
A few interesting Tidbits about me!
My Logo
We were digging through leftover photographic supplies at my Grandmother's, sometime after she passed away, and found an album with this logo on it. I digitized it, and had it registered in my name. I am honored to have it now as my own!
Way Back When...
From Microsoft, I actually moved to DEC as a tester. They were purchased by Compaq, and then HP. I left before HP and reschooled as a welder at Lake Washington Vocational Technical College. Quite a mouthful! I had my own shop for 17 years, then moved into product design and CNC manufacturing for five years. I held two certifications, WABO SMAW and AWS Tig.
From Welding to Products
I moved into product design because I had an interest in a gimbal tripod head, but couldn't justify the expense, especially with my own shop. My wife and I joked, "if I could make it, I couldn't buy it." :)
I refined the gimbal to the point a local camera store started carrying it. Even B&H Photo carried the line. I sold those for several years, along with an L-bracket and flash bracket.
Later, I designed a cargo rack for a customer's Polaris RZR that three local dealers ended up selling. From there, I designed a mirror bracket system for the Polaris Ranger, which netted me two patents, a license plate bracket, and an awesome rack for Polaris snowmobiles that have been sold internationally, shown in the picture of me with my daughter from a few years ago.
I was even featured in a trade magazine and photography magazine!
And Now, I'm Hungry!
I like to cook! I never ended up enrolling in college courses like I initially planned, but took local cooking classes for over a year and a half. I specialized with desserts, but realized I needed to eat dinner too, so I changed my studies.
I have two favorite chefs I learned from, one of whom was on the cooking staff working directly under Jacques Pepin. I learned so much from her and loved the stories she told.
Heidi T.
Rob was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional, had a great attitude, arrived early, delivered beautiful photos faster than I expected. I would highly recommend Rob for another project.
My experience shooting commercial work gives me a unique advantage when photographing detail elements in weddings.
Rest assured that during your wedding, I will capture the unexpected moments, like when the groomsman decided to tackle the bridesmaid during the bouquet toss!
Beautiful Cakes
I'll capture all those beautiful details you planned!
It's all in the details!
Each item represents you. Your style. Your dreams. You want everyone to see who you are. I love looking for little snippets of expression so that you and your loved ones can remember the smaller things that can be lost in the shuffle of the big day.
