This year I spent the 4th at Wild Waves, photographing all of the fun events and all of the people who came to spend the day at the park. The foam cannon was operating in full force, blasting anyone who dared venture near it. There was a giant Jenga competition and a frozen T-shirt contest, where the winner had to unroll and put on a frozen T-shirt before anyone else. Of course, the slides were running and many of the non-water rides. Once the evening rolled around, a movie played on the giant screen for those wading around in the pool.
I was able to bring my kids during this session, but they went on every ride possible so I really didn't see them much. Well, long enough to find out they loved the yellow rollercoaster. My daughter is now old enough to ride one, so she took every opportunity she could to ride it.
I have enjoyed being the event photographer for Wild Waves this year. From meeting the staff and the clientele, to hiding around corners to photograph people without them knowing, or just walking along, watching people having fun while I prepared for the next photo. Only a couple more events left and we will close out this year. With such hot weather for so may days in a row (creating quite a struggle keeping my fruit trees and garden happy), this has been a fantastic year to play at the park.
Here are couple photos from the 4th that I hope you will enjoy! For those interested in the technical details, I use Nikon D850s with either a Nikkor 70-200 FL or Nikkor 24-70 VR lens.
I hope to see you there!
