It's kind of amazing that I am sitting here with a day left of 2024. The fire is beginning to smolder, mostly because the wood didn't have time to fully cure this summer. My cat is somewhat curled up on my desk, with his backend leaning against my computer monitor. In his own, catty way, he left me just enough room to operate the mouse before I bump into his shoulder.
But I digress, as they say. So much happened this year. It started off with photographing a very special first birthday for the firstborn of a family from Sri Lanka. Not only did they book me for extra time, they even sent food home with me for my family to enjoy.
Shortly they're after, I photographed several families, a couple high school senior sessions, I continued volunteering my services with the high school theater group, I was hired to photograph specific landscapes for a local lawn care company and I was hired as the event photographer for Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way, Washington!
In addition to the sessions, I was able to refocus my business quite a bit, join a local chapter of a small business group, take several continuing education classes, expand the products I offer, and even create the most amazing calendar that featured the stuffed animal chickens my kids own.
Looking back, this has been one of my best years in business and I owe so much of it to you, my amazing clients! Thank you so much for entrusting me to capture your special memories on "film." And prints. And canvasses. And albums. I am excited to see what is in store for my business this coming new year and I certainly hope you will be part of it!
Happy new year!
