The Barnwood Collection - Handcrafted
For this week's blog I'd like to discuss one of my favorite frames, the barnwood frame. Barnwood describes wood removed from old barns, repurposed into other uses, such as flooring, siding, and decorative items, like picture frames. Because barnwood has been exposed to years of weather, bugs and spiders, and farm use, it often shows imperfections and characteristics that make it so unique and appealing. Each frame truly is, one of a kind.
You may see nail holes, knots, splinters, and rough textures. Some frames may instead include smooth textures yet appear grayish in color from years of sun fading. Your new frame might even include a bit of everything. Aged barnwood frames are a beautiful compliment to your photos.
Check out my video below, to see a metal print paired with a barnwood frame. Please note the metal print is a 12 x 18, not a 16 x 20 as I said in the video.
If you would like to see the frame in person or would like to discuss how my services can help you, please contact me!
