I don't know about your home, but as I write this, I'm looking at our walls covered in family pictures, kid pictures, grandparent pictures, framed school awards, even a glow in the dark lightning bug that (I suspect) my daughter hung off one of the hooks in the windowsill for the Christmas lights. You can clearly see where the first photos were hung because the spacing between the frames is wide. As time progressed, the photos were positioned much closer together.
I will readily admit, the thought of trying to squeeze one more picture frame on the wall is a bit daunting. I'm not completely sure that I could fit one there, which means I might have to bring one down instead. Considering my own difficulties hanging prints on the wall, I am well aware that my clientele may encounter similar difficulties and thus, the Digital Collection was born!
Some of my clients have ordered the Digital Collection for similar reasons. Others prefer to have the entire set of digital images from their session to print at a later time. Whatever your reasons, this is the perfect choice when you would like all of the images from your session.
The Digital Collection includes high resolution files which is just photographer jargon to say these are the same files I use to produce the best images possible. The digital files can be reduced in size very quickly through all kinds of free programs on the internet so you can share them on your favorite social media platform. You can print the full resolution files at your convenience. A print release allowing you to do just that is included.
On the surface, digital files sound great! But here are a couple points I would like you to consider before purchasing them. First, typically the files are huge. One or two files can usually be stored on your hard-drive without too much problem but a full set from your session may require massive amounts of storage space. Plus, simply sending the image file to your local grocery store or even your favorite print house (if they even accept such a large file) may not produce the same high-quality photograph that you would have received had you purchased wall art from my business and the partners I use.
Why? Because the companies I work with use the highest quality inks, papers, and materials. Some of the products include additional coatings that highlight and protect the photographs. In some cases, additional retouching is performed by the printmaker, to ensure the image looks its absolute best. These and other options simply are not available to the consumer.
More often than not, customers who have purchased the digital collection have the best intentions, but don't end up printing the photos, creating the albums, or purchasing those beautiful wall art pieces. So, they invest all that time and energy into their photo session, only to stockpile the photos onto their computers without ever enjoying them on their walls or mantels, desks, or other visible areas in their home. Sharing a few photos on social media is easy, right? Everyone comments on the photos for a few minutes, then the images are lost until a memory post appears.
When you purchase a wall-art product from me, you are getting the best print on the best medium. The associated high quality image file is included with each print purchase. Instead of purchasing the Digital Collection to store on your computer, a better solution may be to purchase the wall-art you like, receive the associated files, then receive your ready-to-hang masterpieces to enjoy every time you pass by them, your family passes by them, your mom passes by them, your grandfather passes by them, and down the line (including your cat. Cats love seeing photos of themselves). Digitals are great, but nothing beats seeing the photos from your session on your walls!
