My mom and I met Larissa and Doug in the middle of Occidental Park in Seattle. Wait, my mom? Yes. My mom works as my assistant for most weddings and engagements when needed. She worked as a photographer's assistant for her mom when Grandma ran her photography business in a small town for a little over 30 years. Having her experience and expertise has been important as it lets my business run smoother when photographing couples.
Larissa and Doug were one of the easiest couples to photograph because of the amount of preparation they put into the session before I ever even met them. Larissa studied just about every wedding magazine in existence from which she learned the pictures she liked and the poses that created them. She knew exactly what she wanted when I arrived. At one point, I actually asked if she was a model because of how on fire she was. She required very little input from me. Her fiancé was smooth and cool and very relaxed. You can tell in the photos just how much fun they were having and their joy being with each other.
You know what I find really neat? Even in this day where photographs are being snapped by the millions a day, there's still something special about setting aside time to be photographed by a photographer in a special place for your photography session, be it for engagement photos, couple photos, or your wedding day photos!
